Pit 1, shown here, includes 11 corridors of warriors lined up like this to defend the tomb in the afterlife. The pit is 230m long and 62m wide. The hollowed out areas show where local farmers were previously buried in this land. Their remains were removed and reburied elsewhere after the warriors were discovered.
