About this photo
This field (near the town now called Battle, for some reason!) is where the 1066 Battle of Hastings is believed to have taken place. There is a tourist trail around the field which uses an audio guide to tell the story of the battle. It's a great experience, and for a radio fan like me, it really helped me imagine what it must have been like at the battle. I do remember some other tourists near us, though, who complained: "It's just a field, innit! Rip off!"
