About this photo

The LinnDrum, introduced in 1982, was a classic drum machine of the 1980s. It was used on iconic singles by artists including A-Ha, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Genesis, Madonna, Tears for Fears, Wham!, Harold Faltermayer (Axel F) and Jan Hammer (Crockett's Theme). Jean Michel Jarre used it on his sample-led album Zoolook. I took this photo at a digital technology exhibition at the Barbican in London.
