About this photo
The inner gate at the Senso-ji Buddhist temple in Tokyo is known as Hozomon (or Treasure House Gate). It was originally built in 942 AD, but rebuilt in 1631 following fire damage and in 1964 following war damage. It was designed to be fire proof and houses a number of Japanese treasures.
