Photo of a trabant car in Berlin
|18 of 24|
One of the famous trabant cars, which was the most common car in East Germany, and which was sometimes called a Trabbi or Trabi. Now, they're something of a tourist attraction, and are often used for advertising (as this one was, parked in front of the East Side Gallery) or for giving tours around Berlin. Pop band U2 used painted trabants as part of the stage set on their Zoo TV tour.
