This photo shows the tolls payable for crossing Ironbridge, including half a pence for a foot passenger, calf, pig, sheep or lamb; and up to 2 shillings for a carriage, if it's drawn by six horses. The tolls were unchanged from when the bridge opened in 1779 until tolls were abolished in 1950.
