The house of writer Jules Verne (Maison de Jules Verne) in Amiens is now a tourist attraction that gives a fascinating insight into his life and work. The author is best known for his works Around the World in 80 Days, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Centre of the Earth. He lived and worked here for 18 years, from 1882 to 1900, when he was well established as a successful writer.
