Just off of Hollywood Boulevard was a shopping centre with quotes like this one from actors set into the pavement as mosaics: "I realized that if I didn't do something pretty soon I was going to be digging ditches in Chicago for another twenty years. So I came out here. I got work as a security guard for movie stars, and they helped me find an agent. I was just about to give up when I got my first part. Now I've got an Oscar nomination - Actor".
