About this photo
The Chrysler Building was the world's tallest building (at 319m) for 11 months, until the Empire State Building stole its crown in 1931. Spires such as the one on the Chrysler Building have been used over the years to help buildings to achieve the accolade. The Chrysler Building is a spectacular art deco construction, and one of the most distinctive skyscrapers in New York. For this photo, I zoomed in to show some of the more industrial and residential areas beyond the business district.
