Download Mickey and Minnie Mouse sprites for Scratch

There is no copyright any more on the 1928 Disney film Steamboat Willie. The film starred early versions of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, so you can now use these characters in Scratch games and other creative projects.

To make it easier, I've extracted the images from the film and turned them into Scratch sprites. You can animate them using Scratch code, and even build a game where they are the characters.

Here's a demonstration project I built using the sprites and a music track from my collection Press Play:

Get the sprites in the demo project on the Scratch site. I'd love to see the remixes you make using these sprites!

Make your own Scratch sprites from a film

If you'd like to make more sprites from the film, or any film, see my video explaining how I did it:

What can't you do with Mickey and Minnie Mouse?

While the copyright has expired on Steamboat Willie, there are still some restrictions. Disney has trademarks on Mickey and Minnie Mouse, so you can't sell things with them on, or make people think your project was made by Disney.
