We saw this small but brightly coloured green and yellow bird stealing sugar sachets at a cafe in Alice Springs. The birds were stealing sugar sachets from the tables, ripping them open and then pecking at the sugar that fell out. The locals probably couldn't understand why I was photographing it - it would be a bit like someone photographing a pigeon in England. Nevertheless, these birds are beautiful and I enjoyed seeing them everywhere. I believe this bird is an Australian ringneck, probably the Cloncurry parrot subspecies which is common in this area.
