The statue of Liberty holds a book in one hand, with the date of 4th July 1776 in Roman numerals on it (JULY IV MDCCLXXVI), which is the date of the United States Declaration of Independence. I used a zoom lens to capture this detail from the ground on Liberty Island, and shot it in black and white.
