There's a vibrant scene of developers writing new games for 1980s computers, including the Amstrad CPC 464, which was the one I had. In 2021, Fusion Retro Books revived Amtix! magazine, which was originally published between November 1985 and April 1987. The new magazine takes a look at today's Amstrad scene, reviewing new games, as well as taking a nostalgic look at games from the past.
For Christmas 2022, Fusion Retro Books published the Amtix! CPC annual, an A5 hardback publication with 116 pages. It compiles content from the magazine's issues in 2022, and includes several new features.
I was excited to contribute to this book. One of my first books was a guide to Amstrad CPC Basic programming, called The Basic Idea.
