I took this photo of Big Ben in April 2010, when the eruption of a volcano in Iceland grounded all flights in the UK. It was a perfect blue-sky day, and with no planes or vapour trails in the sky, I rushed onto the tube with my camera bag to grab some shots of iconic landmarks like this one. Strictly speaking, Big Ben is the name of the bell in the tower, but it's also often used to refer to the clock tower itself. The tower dates back to 1858. I took this close up of Big Ben using a zoom lens. Big Ben is part of the Palace of Westminster or Houses or Parliament in London.
