Photo of the Transamerica Pyramid, San Francisco
|71 of 77|
The Transamerica Pyramid skyscraper in San Francisco subverts the normal boxy design of skyscrapers. It tapers to a point over its 48 floors, giving it a triangular shape. The building was completed in 1972, when it was the eighth tallest building in the world. Today, it is the tallest skyscraper in San Francisco.
