Web Design in Easy Steps, now in its 7th Edition, shows you how to make effective websites that work on any device.
By Carol Vorderman
I was part of the team that created this highly illustrated full-colour book for children. It is published by Dorling Kindersley and also known as "Help Your Kids with Computer Coding" in its US and Canadian editions.
With a highly illustrated approach and simple language, the book introduces key ideas in programming. Using games and fun examples, the book teaches children to program in Scratch and Python. Both languages have had a boost from the popularity of the Raspberry Pi, and are widely used in schools and colleges.
The book is aimed at children aged 8 to 11. The example pages below show the book's style and can help you to decide whether it's right for your family or school library.
The writing team on this book included Carol Vorderman, Jon Woodcock, Sean McManus, Craig Steele, Claire Quigley, and Daniel McCafferty. The editor was Sam Priddy, and the designer was Fiona Macdonald.
