Free javascript advent calendar for your website
02 November 2006
I've created an advent calendar script which you can post on your website. It uses Javascript, which is easy for anyone to edit who knows a bit about HTML. You don't need anything special on the server, either. It should work anywhere webpages work.
The code includes instructions on how to customise it. As well as putting your own image in the background, you can change the positioning of the doors. Each door opens a new window, so you can use it to share anything you can put online, including music, video and games. There's a rudimentary date check to prevent people peeking early.
This script is being posted nice and early so others have time to install it on their websites for this Christmas. Nearer December, I will be launching this site's own Christmas 2006 calendar, packed with 24 digital surprises.
